My kids are grown, but I have a bunch of those first day of school photos I am still scrapping. I am trying to create an album dedicated to these 'first day' photos. Do you have an idea of how to make these posed pictures look unique, interesting or exciting? Please share your thoughts or ideas -- how can I make these old pictures come to life?

Catherine,
I think the journaling will be what makes these photos stand out from year to year...what special things happened during that school year? I know I would have a hard time remembering though...so interview your kids and ask THEM to tell you special things about each year. Did they like the teacher they had that year? What things were "popular" that year? Any special projects or events that were a highlight for them?
I would probably pick a coordinating group of school papers and use them throughout the album...keep it simple and highlight the journaling.

Becky ~ Love the idea of asking the kids for their favorite memories from the year. I would actually like to do a 'back in the day' type album of my own school memories, and you have inspired me to look at each photo and brainstorm what I can remember from each year to piece together journaling, rather than just saying the year and the grade that the photo was from... now off to dig out all those old photos!
