any ideas how I can use these?

I recently was given about 150 leftover stainless steel ball chain necklaces (you know the kind that you can clip name badges to).  They are about 2 feet long each if you undo the clasp.  I was hoping to do something crafty with them, but am drawing a blank.  I don't know if I can cut through the link between the balls to use shorter lengths.  I think there may be cool things I can do on cards or scrapbook pages.  Has anyone else used these for anything crafty before?

Thanks!

You should be able to cut the end with out the clasp pc. anywhere you want to make smaller sizes.  I've cut ball changes with just regular scissors many time (although that's probly not what you should be doing with your regular scissors! )  You should be able to make little chains for tags, like you mentioned easily.  Also you may want to make pendants to hang from them.  Ball chains are often used with Soldiered glass pendants, little key chains, use them to string beads on to with a regular necklace clasp at one end so they can be used as a necklace charm enhancer, added to necklaces and removed easily for a change in looks.  One thing is for sure... you will not need to BUY any Ballchains ever in this life time with that many of them just having been given to you!  I think you are set for life on those buggers!

I have used them to bind the pages together in mini scrapbooks.  Here is a itty bitty one that fits in a band-aid type box...

Becky that project is way cute and so festive!

I'm thinking you could make your own clip it up to hold your thickers or packets of embellies so you can see them better.  I've been wanting one of those but can't part with that much money, or use to hold your ribbons that come on packs or ends that wont stay on rolls.

Share what you do with them, I'm sure there could be a ton of ways to use them.

One time a stamping group I was in made bracelets.  You could use the chain for that.  We all took shrink plastic and stamped something on it that was "about" us.  Like, one gal had cats that we all new she adored, so she stamped a cat. Another always wore her black hair in a pageboy and she did an image with that hairdo.  Anyway, when you looked at your bracelet, you knew who made what because it reminded them of the crafter.  We colored the images, cut them out, punched holes in them and shrank them.  They turned out really cute.
