I love paper... always have and always will... but digital scrapbooking sucked me in and I have to say that it is just as addictive! I am very frugal, so I love that I can reuse my pieces over and over again, or even make my own for free! I also love that there is no mess, and that you can print your designs out over and over again. What are your favorite things about digital scrapbooking?

I could see how it could suck you in - I never thought about the money saving aspect

Actually I do both digital and paper because I just can't stop using paper but I will probably end up doing all digital scrapbooking and use paper for other crafts
Best of both worlds

I love to do digital scrapping as well as paper. I think what first attracted me to digital is the ability to do some risk-free creating. You can try new and different techniques knowing that you can always use the "un do" button if you don't like how it turned out. I became hooked when I started learning how to alter and change digital products so you can reuse them over and over without all your pages looking the same. Now I even design and sell my own digital supplies and really enjoy the creative process.

I do a little bit of both but don't think I could ever go totally digital, I love playing with paper and glue to much!

I still paper scrap sometimes, but I really love Digi Scrapping! I must admit, I love the undo button and I use that often. Renee MY LIFE...WITH CHEESE!

One of my favorite things is the UNDO button! It doesn't matter if you crop a mat the wrong size, or made the font too big - just UNDO it!
I see that you're in Kansas City, Crafty Canary - me too! We should get together for some digi cropping! I know a few other local digi scrappers, too.

I LOVE the UNDO button too! It's so easy to play with new techniques, create and recreate a page until it's perfect, etc. Even though "it's only paper", the frugal-ite in me hates to waste anything when I make a mistake or change my mind on a traditional layout - but in digital there is no waste! In fact, you can save the original and then recreate it in a new way, and keep both! Love that!

I have started digital scrapbooking too.I started with the Linda Sattgast tutorials for PhotoShop Elements and she is terrific. Check out the newsletter on http://www.scrappersguide.com/. I had taken a class on PSE and learned about photo editing but these tutorials teach me so much more. I still find PSE challenging but it makes much more sense than it did before. She really teaches you how to use the layers. If you join the Premier membership, you get monthly downloads of paper and decorative elements and more tutorials.
I still love the look and feel of putting together a scrapbook page and am not crazy about just have a page printed out. Also, getting a 12x12 page printed professionally is pricey. I guess I will be a hybrid scrapper.

Hi Mindy, Digital scrapbooking is using software such as photoshop to put your pages together with digital embellishments and then print them yourself.
I have don't just a couple of digi pages, I have a ton of digi kits. But I'm a paper and embellishment girl at heart. So I usually end up doing hybrid pages.

I got sucked into also! I'm hoping that I can start creating layouts, create a slide show, and send them to my parents throughout the year! It's cheaper than trying to ship actual layouts to them!

Hi, my name is Paula. I was just heading to find out something about digital scrapbooking/card making. But, as I am sure it may give a nicer look to the end project, I just can't imagine myself doing it. I love to pick and choose what's in front of me - paper, paste, stickers, cutting things out. The only thing I use the computer for is ideas sometimes. I know when I finish a card or scrapbooking page that it is mine. To each there own right. I guess you could just call me old fashioned haha. I do both -- love the creativity and fantasy type LO's that I can make with digi -- the UNDO button is great-- my kids even make LO's- and have enjoyed making some of my own papers to use, there is no mess to clean up--and I can use things more than once -- but I still love my craft area and paper scrapping and card making -- you just have to get your hands dirty every now and again -- could never totally give it up.

Good Morning Ladies!
I'm the newbie for today. I would love to check out digi but don't know where to go to find them or to find instructions on how to do them. Can anyone spare a link so I can check this out? I sometimes have slow periods at work that I can play with these.
Thanks for your time. I'm just lookin' to learn.

Howdy, I am a newbie around these parts of spotted canary. I absolutely adore digi-scrapbooking. I do on occasion do some more traditional scrapbooking but the whole being able to do digi-scrapbooking for practicably free is what really sells me on it. I am basically, more or less a recent college grad and recently married with NO income to spare, so it is great to get all these creative urges out. I haven't done any in awhile and I don't really have a lot of flexible time since the Hubs and I are moving into a house at the end of the month
I also really enjoy doing regular pages and can't wait until I have the time and income to FINALLY put together a honeymoon scrapbook. I have one sort of done in computer but having one with paper and all the jazz would also be great as well.
I am really interested it starting to make my own kits and the like for digital scrapbook but I haven't really found any good resources to help me. I use GIMP because I can't afford any type of photoshop or the ones I have are so old and annoyed to go on one more computer. GIMP is great though, it does pretty much everything Photoshop does but without ANY price tag, it is a completely free.
