Instructions
STEP
1:
Pull the paper inserts from the purchased album and measure them. Use this as a guide to cut your cardstock colors into background pages and strips.
STEP
2:
Edge cut cardstocks with white paint. Let dry.
STEP
3:
Cut your photos as needed, lightly sand edges, and adhere to cardstock pages. (As you begin to see where your journaling will be, leave paint splotches on the areas you’ll want to highlight with stickers or handwritten words. See the “carefree“and “lazy“clear-backed stickers on the pages shown.)
STEP
4:
Punch out photo corners and rough up the edges with a fingernail for a subtle textural effect. Adhere to pages.
STEP
5:
Attach dimensional stickers, word stickers, and pen journaling to your pages.
STEP
6:
For extra sturdy pages, I make custom page reinforcements. Take a sheet of paper reinforcements and wipe gently over a light colored ink, then stamp a design over them in a darker ink. Wipe or pat the whole sheet dry, as ink will bead up on the treated paper between the reinforcements. Then simply lift them off the backing and carefully attach them over the holes in your album pages!
