STEP
1:
Paint photo frame black. Let dry.

2:
Format clipart football to fit frame and allow for frame’s opening. Print twice on typing paper. Cut football out from one copy and the stripes and laces from the other.

3:
Trace frame opening onto football pattern and remove with the craft knife.
STEP
4:
Adhere buckskin cardstock to chipboard. Trace football pattern onto the chipboard and cut out. PARENTL Machine stitch around edges using brown thread. OR, child can simulate the look of stitching by drawing dashed lines around the football shape and frame opening.
STEP
5:
Trace and cut laces and stripes from photo paper. PARENT: Machine stitch to football using white thread. OR, child can simulate the look of stitching by drawing dashed lines around the white laces and stripes.

6:
Attach football to frame using black foam adhesive.
STEP
7:
Glue chipboard letters to frame front.
STEP
8:
Tip for Success: If your machine needle becomes sticky while sewing because of the adhesive, use a cotton ball doused with rubbing alcohol to clean it.
