After eating the candy inside these adorable little Halloween treat baskets, you can actually eat the basket too! Great for a Halloween party.
Instructions
STEP
1:
-Take 5 square graham crackers to form box. Melt chocolate chips over low heat. (It takes quite a bit of chocolate to coat the entire inside of each box so I would approximate that each bag of chips will coat 4-5 boxes.
-Coat inside of crackers starting with seams. You probably will need to prop up each side with the side of dishes until it hardens. (I used chocolate because it gets nice and hard and makes a sturdy box.) While chocolate is still wet inside place licorice like a handle so it gets sealed with the chocolate. You can also use white chocolate and dye it with food coloring if you want a color interior. Let dry completely until hard.
STEP
2:
-Now you have your basic baskets that you can decorate using any halloween candy or cake decorating supplies that you like. Be sure if you use icing to let the icing dry till hardened so that it doesn’t get ruined when placing treat inside baskets.
-I filled the baskets with this light green cotton candy I found. It said it was spider web cotton candy but it wasn’t webby at all.(Is that false advertising? hee-hee) I put it in anyway because it at least tasted yummy. I then filled the top with halloween candy. These are really little baskets so I would choose smaller candy to fill them up.
-Enjoy treating yourself and have nothing to throw away afterwards. Now that is really green.
